Which file type is best suited for my purpose?
- PDF: High resolution logo image used for larger graphic presentations such as banners or displays. Download
- EPS: This file is best suited for offset printing. An EPS file can be resized freely. Download
- BMP: This file should only be used when the software used for layout specifically requires this type of file, such as Quark or PageMaker. As a general rule, users should avoid using color BMPs whenever possible; however, the use of black BMPs is fine. Resizing BMPs should be done with care; it's better to downsize than to enlarge. Download
- TIFF: This file can be used in such "office" applications as Word, WordPerfect, Excel, PowerPoint, etc., but is not as efficient as using a WMF file. Resizing TIFFs should be done with care; it's better to downsize than to enlarge. Of note, TIFFs (and GIFs, see below) are ideal if the logo is going to be converted into an Adobe PDF file. Download
- GIF: This file can be used in such "office" applications as Word, WordPerfect, Excel, PowerPoint, etc., but is not as efficient as using a WMF file.
